Unusual Mid to Late 1800’s Quilt Top

Description

This quilt top is about 69 inches by 90 inches. As you can see from the photo, it does not lie flat. It appears to be a combination of a couple of quilt tops. From the right side of the photo, there is one strip that is about 31 inches wide and from the left side, there is a strip that is about 20 inches wide. These strips are backed on a second piece of fabric. The center strip which is about 18 inches wide, is not backed.

There is one frayed piece at the very top right hand corner of the quilt top and there are a few small brown stains on this top. Please see the pictures taken of the front and back of the quilt top. All of the stitching is hand stitched.
