Seven Sisters Quilt Circa 1880’s

Description

This quilt is 64 by 72 inches. The pattern was a popular pattern in the last quarter of the 19th century. There was a lot of scientific interest in astronomy, and the quilt pattern is named after the Seven Sisters constellation. The quilt has a few small brown spots and there is one torn red piece as can be seen in the photo. There is some light fading on some of the green and orange pieces. The back is a lightweight muslin and it has a few light red stains and one small hole.
