Gertude Bryan Old Mill Cigarette Silk. The top of the silk reads “Factory No. 25, 2nd Dist. Va.” Cigarette silks were used as promotional items. Gertrude was an actress in theater and Broadway in the early 20th Century. She appeared in Little Boy Blue in 1911 in New York and continued to perform through 1939.
