Burgundy Scheurer Fabric Sample

Description

This sample piece was purchased from an auction in Paris and came from the famous Scheurer Company which was one of Europe’s great textile printers based in Mulhouse in Alsace, France. One edge has small holes where the piece was attached to the sample book. There is a label in the corner of the piece that reads “51443 Taffetas Raye.” There is a small print flaw near the center of the piece as shown in the photo. This sample measures 32 by 19 inches. The vines and stylized flowers are tan with blue leaves and blue outline.
