Black, Pink & Green Beaded Dress

Description

This is a beautifully beaded dress, probably from the early 1900’s. It was owned by a lady who loved to dress up and entertain. The dress has been modified somewhat and green threaded basting stitches are visible in the front of the dress (making darts) and on the back of the dress (gathering at the waist). Some black beads are missing in a few spots. There is also some fading as shown in the photos. Both the front and the back of the dress have been modified but not finished.

The bodice is about 40 inches at its widest. The skirt is about 52 inches around at the widest. The full length of the dress about 48 inches. Note the bottom of the dress is scalloped with strands of hanging beads.
