Blanche Ring (1871-1961) Old Mill Cigarette Silk. The top of the silk reads “Factory No. 25, 2nd Dist. Va.” Cigarette silks were used as promotional items. Blanche was an American singer and actress. In 1902 she became known for the song “In the Good Old Summertime”. This silk is a darker pink/purple than shows in the photo.
